Demi attended Seventeen’s Power Of Friendship Luncheon yesterday, January 4.  I uploaded 16 new pictures from the event to our gallery.  Also, here’s an article that talks about a letter that Selena wrote to Demi, which she read during the event.

Selena Gomez wrote a heartfelt note to her BFF Demi Lovato that was read out loud at Demi’s ‘Seventeen’ magazine cover luncheon in Hollywood Jan. 4  Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have been best friends since they were seven years old and auditioning for Barney in Texas. Now, nearly a decade later, the girls have been through their ups and downs, but remain close. In fact, Selena even wrote a revealing note dedicated to her friend, which was read to everyone at Demi’s luncheon celebration for her February Seventeen magazine cover.

Here is what the 19-year-old former Disney starlet said:
Demi, first I want to say that I am sorry that I cant be here with you today, but I just want to say first how proud I am of you. Knowing you since we were seven and watching you become the person you are is truly amazing.

I was there when you sang in front of 10 people knowing all of the words to your songs and I was there when you sang in front of 14,000 people, still knowing all of your songs. You have something that you know has been hard for me to have at times. You have courage — courage to want to change to be better for yourself.

The amount of respect that I have for you is indescribable. You have gone through one of the hardest chapters in your life and I praise you for wanting to share that journey and walk away from it all as a better person. Thank you for trusting me and wanting me there during that hard time. I hope you know how much I love you and how proud I am of the role model that you have become.

Last year, Demi was admitted into rehab for emotional and physical issues and has said Selena was one of the only people who stood by her side, supporting her. Are you surprised Selena admitted Demi is more courageous than she is? Do you think they’ll be friends forever after going through this?

Demi is on the cover of February’s issue of Seventeen Magazine. She looks stunning. I uploaded the covershoot to our gallery as well as the cover. Check it out!  Also, here’s a video of the behind the scenes of the photoshoot.

When Demi Lovato entered treatment in late 2010 to treat “emotional and physical issues,” the teen singer knew she had the support of celeb BFFs Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez.

“No matter how many times we fight, we will always be in each others’ lives,” Lovato, 19, tells the February issue of Seventeen. “Miley and I are very strong-headed, so when we fight, it’s brutal and we’re like, ‘We’re never going to be friends again!’ Then two days later, we’re like, ‘I love you and I miss you!’” Krazy kidz!

Unlike her relationship with Cyrus, 19, Lovato says she “never” fights with Gomez, also 19. “She’s not a confrontational person at all. Both of them will never leave my life no matter what happens, because we’ve been through so much together.”

Cyrus and Gomez weren’t the only stars to reach out to Lovato while she was in rehab at Timberline Knolls. “We’re not super-close, but Taylor Swift tweeted ‘Pray for Demi,’ which I thought was really awesome of her. And Kim Kardashian, the busiest woman on the planet, took time to call me.”

The “Give Your Heart a Break” singer tells Seventeen that Kardashian, 31, “was there for me when not many people were. I could count on my hands how many people were there for me. So the people who were, I didn’t forget it.”

Now that she’s been out of rehab for a full year, Lovato says she feels “more confident, happy and healthy” than ever before.

“I have so much to look forward to — from little everyday things, like where I’m going to go shopping with my friends, to big things, like heading out on the road [on tour], or even really long-term things, like what my next big project will be.”

Seventeen Blog: Why I’m Grateful

As many of you know, last year at this time, I was in treatment. I spent Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve away from my home and family which is why I am so excited to be with them this year. Thinking about how far I have come in a year makes me so thankful. I could not have done this without God and the amazing support from my family. They have stuck by me through everything and love me just the way that I am. That is a wonderful feeling to know that people accept the real you. Honestly, I am thankful for my life path, including the highs and the lows, because it has caused my true self to shine through. Going to treatment was a gift and I believe it saved my life. I learned how to be strong and healthy even through struggles. It also helped me open up about my issues and share them with others. Knowing that my family, friends and fans accept me for who I am is the greatest feeling ever!

What a difference a year makes - I cannot believe I’m out on tour again! I just got done with my first show in Detroit. What an amazing crowd! Sometimes I cannot believe how lucky I am to be on the road and doing what I love every night. I am even going to perform in my hometown, Dallas, over the Thanksgiving holiday. I am so excited to spend Thanksgiving with my family in Texas. They are so much fun! Every Thanksgiving my entire family (about 50 people) gather around and eat tons of food and talk for hours. Since I do not get to visit Dallas as much as I would like, I really appreciate my time there with everyone.

I am so thankful that I am healthy and happy this year. I no longer take things for granted, like my family, friends, fans and career. Each day is special to me and I take each day one day at a time.

Sometimes people get busy and forget to enjoy the moment - but I know I will not do that this holiday season. I have worked very hard to get to the place I am today and I am going to enjoy every minute of it! I wish all of you a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving.

Stay Strong!

Love,

Demi.
